Schaumburg, IL and Oakland, Calif. – June 9, 2026 – INX International Ink Co., a leading global manufacturer of inks and coatings, and chemistry AI company Albert Invent today announced a strategic collaboration to digitally transform INX’s research and development operations and enable AI-driven formulation discovery.
The collaboration will see INX deploy Albert Invent’s operating system across its R&D organization to capture experimental knowledge, connect workflows across scientific teams, and build the data foundation required to tap into AI-powered discovery capabilities.
As one of the industry’s most scientifically diverse R&D organizations, INX has deep expertise across solvent-based, water-based, energy-curable and metal decorating ink systems, along with global color management and formulation science. Following an evaluation of existing technology providers, INX transitioned to Albert Invent to address gaps in data harmonization across all R&D groups, a clear path to AI-powered innovation, and change management support.
“Digital transformation in R&D isn’t just about implementing software. It’s about changing how knowledge flows across an entire organization,” said Mark Hill, senior vice president of R&D at INX. “The team at Albert are partners we can count on, working closely with our scientists to understand our workflows and implement a system that reflects how our teams actually innovate.”

Albert OS provides scientists with a centralized, AI-ready foundation for capturing experimental knowledge and accelerating discovery.
Key to the project’s success is INX and Albert working hand in hand as transformation partners, with Albert helping INX’s scientific teams map workflows and ultimately drive adoption across the organization. Notably, the now scaled deployment is built off of an initial major data migration effort, transferring INX’s historical R&D data into Albert to ensure INX’s institutional knowledge continues to power future AI models.
“Modern materials innovation will increasingly depend on turning experimental knowledge into intelligence,” said Nick Talken, CEO of Albert Invent. “By building an AI-ready R&D infrastructure, INX has taken a huge leap forward when it comes to setting industry standards for innovation. We’re thrilled to be working closely with their team to build an internal environment where discovery can essentially accelerate with every experiment.”
The collaboration continues to drive innovation at INX through:
- Experimental data capture across R&D teams, creating a unified source of truth for formulation and testing data;
- AI-powered tools enable scientists to design experiments, predict formulation performance, and optimize materials using their own proprietary data;
- Enhanced regulatory intelligence allowing formulators to generate Safety Data Sheets (SDS) directly during development workflows;
- Enterprise-grade security enabling safe and secure collaboration across scientific teams;
- Streamlined R&D request workflows linking commercial product requests directly to research teams.
“The team at Albert comes from deep industry expertise and fundamentally understands the nuances of our business,” said INX CEO Bryce Kristo. “We are extremely excited to partner with them on our digital transformation journey as we integrate some of the best emerging technology and AI capabilities the industry has to offer.”
